On Thursday morning, we will be bringing A Significant Collection of Rarities (lots 179-397) to the auction block. Notable here are the large format bottles: six magnums of 2001 Château Lafite, two of the 1979 Heitz Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon, Martha’s Vineyard, and a single-magnum lot of the astoundingly rare 2014 DRC Romanée-Conti. Remarkably, every bottle in this collection was purchased on release and carefully stored in ideal conditions.
Continuing the excitement, HDH will present An Important Collection of Comte Liger-Belair (lots 1175-1204) on Friday morning. This producer is a perennial favorite at auction, but rarely seen with such depth in the best vintages. The Liger-Belair holdings cover some of the most exalted property in Burgundy, all of which will be on offer here. The wines are complex and balanced, and with the impeccable provenance of this collection, you can continue to cellar the bottles with confidence. You will find full 12- and 6-bottle owc cases here in abundance.
A Library of Excellence (lots 1211-1535) is the cornerstone of the sale, and presented with deep gratitude to the consignor, a long-time friend of HDH. It is a vast collection—of which this consignment is only a small portion—that holds rarities from Burgundy, Champagne, the Rhône Valley, Italy, and much more. The highest echelon of Burgundy producers is well represented, with Jayer, Leroy, DRC, Roumier, and Rousseau all exhibited in this offering.
